CE Recommendations from Quy Nguyen, OD, Director of Career Development and Minority Enrichment, SUNY College of Optometry:

12B3 - The New Customer Experience: Staying Relevant.

I got a chance to attend a private equity talk at Vision Expo East, and Dr. Kling was one of the speakers there. I thought he was an exceptional speaker with really good insight, and it was interesting, especially with his decision to not sell his practice to private equity. I think this talk is extremely relevant in this day and age, and anyone who wants to learn about customer service should really give it a try.

21C1 - Managing the Glaucoma Suspect.

If you are looking for a good clinical course to take, this is a good one.  Dr. Madonna is an engaging speaker and I bet you're going to see a lot of glaucoma suspects in your lifetime as a clinician, so this is a good consideration.

45B2 - Learn to Digitally Dominate.

I recommend this course for those who needs a brush up on your business' digital strategy. It's necessary in a world when we are going more and more digital!

CE Recommendations from Jordan Edwards, ABOC, Frame Buyer, EyeCare Partners.

24B6 - Disc- The Science of Communicating with People.

With so many new and less personal methods of communication, it has become more difficult to effectively communicate with those around us. I'm excited to see this new course offering!

23B3 - How To Respond to the 64 Million Dollar Question- Why Do Glasses Cost So Much?.

With online sales and discount opticals becoming more prevalent, it is critical to understand how to communicate the features and benefits of eyewear at higher price points.

31B1 - Getting the Best Return From Your Slow Moving Frames.

This is an issue that plagues almost all optical retailers. Balancing the need to keep inventory fresh while still making a return on your investment for older inventory is tricky!

CE Recommendations from Will To, OD, ABOC, Optical Illusions, Founder, At Will Consulting

21B1 - Creating a Culture of Trust.

By the time you graduate Optometry School and pass your boards, no one will doubt that you are a great clinician. However, to truly be a great doctor requires that you go beyond the science, and look into the human side of healthcare and what it takes to truly be respected by your patients and staff.

24B6 - DISC - The Science Of Communicating And Connecting With People.

Communication is the key. It doesn't matter how well you diagnose if you can't effective articulate what you see and what you know to those around you.

12B3 - The New Customer Experience: Staying Relevant.

Complacency is a practice killer. ODs who graduated just a few years ago are realizing that healthcare is changing and it's not only important to keep up, but also stay in front of moving trends to ensure that you are providing the ultimate patient experience.

CE Recommendations from Brianna Branch, Illinois College of Optometry, Class of 2019:

12C4 - Diagnosing and Managing Ocular Emergencies and Urgencies.

Emergency case walks into your brand new job. What do you do? Don’t fret! Join in this chat and learn the many ways to triage and diagnose emergency situations!

25B6 - Combating disruptive forces in eye care.

Who is our biggest competition out there in the business world? The internet! Using an app or ordering a product on the internet has become far too convenient that clients don’t want to purchase items in office. How do we fix this issue? Come find out how to combat the internet.

45L1 - Forget Facebook These Contacts Really Matter.

Optometry for 200. Lenses that can be placed on the eye. What are Contacts? Yes!  Play a contact lens jeopardy game and compete to become the ultimate contact lens guru.

CE Recommendations from Bimal Patel, Owner of Focus – Refined Eye Care, Houston, TX

24B1 -  Customer expectations breaking the mediocre mindset

I think this course is really important for those going in to private practice. In the world on online retail, customer service is everything! If you can take the transactional items out of what we do and make the experience more enjoyable then it can really set you apart.

32B3 - Goals: A guide to setting, keeping track, and REALLY achieving them

Goal setting is so important for the young professional. Knowing what your ultimate dream is can help guide what you do every day. This class can potentially get you there!

33B1-  Double your sales in one week

It is important to think business. Sometimes in our profession we forget that you need to make a profit to survive and maintain a practice. Doubling your sales will get you there. It's also important to think of other avenues of how to make extra sales. This course can highlight that for you!
