Maximizing dispensary profitability is dependent on increasing the quantity and quality of sales of optical goods and services. This can be realized by developing and utilizing lifestyle questions to discover needs, carefully listening to the patient-provided answers and subsequently designing eyewear that will meet the identified needs. Those needs may differ significantly for individuals of different ages. This course will help eyecare professionals to identify personal, recreational and occupational needs that are specific to individuals of different generations and to how to apply specialized lens products and treatments to meet them. Discussion will include increasing multiple-pair sales, sales of office/computer lenses, antireflective coatings and selective absorption products that are designed to protect the eyes from ultraviolet and high energy visible light (HEV).
